Less TIME for online.. I'm back to LIVE PLAY.

Well -

Three games deep in my 1/2 NO limit game.

Game 1 - Up $150.00
Game 2 - Down $105.00
Game 3 - Up $350.00

$400 up.

Now.. Show me doing that ONLINE... and I'm HOOKED.

My years of playing online ave not shown the same results as my live play... So - What am I to do?

Simple math says - PLAY live. i can not get results (with same quality of play online) It baffles me.. So I'm not really going to worry about it.. I'm planning on WORKING the "LIVE PLAY" plan.. The one that works for me.

The LIVE players are just horrible (just like online) but MY quality hand (usually traps) - plain WORK.. The hands "HOLD UP"

I'll keep everyone up to date - No one is happier to keep track of this LIVE vs. ONLINE poker play than I am..

Give live a chance.. It might be very rewarding.

The YOUNG ONES (poker players 20 and younger)

Not too long ago - (or so it seems in my mind anyways) I was a very young clueless poker player sitting in games in Atlantic City and Las Vegas..

I made moves - bluffed a bit (got cought a lot)

Back in my early days of poker - I played silly - to get or "catch" that RUSH "FEELING" of a big turn or river card . I also pretty much enjoyed taking the pot off the mega tight players.. (for some reason - "the OLD TIMERS")

SOMETHING about these young guys today... I dunno. Something is different.

NOT ALL YOUNG ONES ARE BAD.. But MOST have a long way to go..(to figure it all out)

In my young days... However.. (Maybe we thought about money different)

You see.. I cared about the money I lost. When I was PLAYING POORLY.. It crushed my trips budget at times. Some times I got SMASHED playing poor poker (making low % draws etc)

Because of all this BUDGET STUFF.. I learned QUICK.. and because I wanted to be returning to Vegas and AC often.. I would have to tighten up too on the ocasions when the SLOPPY poker did not work out.

TODAYS KIDS?

I can't put my finger on it.. (exactly anyways) But It's appears we are dealing with the after effects of many years of all those deadly video games they have been playing since they were "5". They might NEED "more" action than I did when I was young...

It appears.. AGGRESSION is their only move. (But it's NOT selective aggression it seems) Fact is.. SOME younger players.. have NO DISGRESSION WHAT-SO-EVER and very little control. (They just don't "get it" - REAL MONEY POKER - is NO VIDEO GAME.)

THIS "LIFE" YOU ARE LIVING KIDS - IS NOT A PRACTICE RUN. THIS IS "IT" - It's all you GET/GOT.

And.. kids, If these REAL CASH POKER WAS a "VIDEO game." - The OLD TIMERS can/could hit the RE-SET BUTTON (by pulling more money out of thier pockets) Something I think most younger players CAN not afford to do..

I think many of these younger players did not do much work earning money in their teen years.. (cutting grass, shoveling sidewalks, etc) Instead, I get the feeling the parents just gave them the money they needed to DO WHAT THEY DO.

These players that end up in POKER GAMES - really don't VALUE money. Period. Many - as I see it don't stand a chance... especially in the LONG RUN. The "money" in POKER "MUST - in my way of thinking..." Mean something... and have a VALUE.

*******************

I was playing with this 19 year old this past FRIDAY night in a TOURNEY and then a 1/2 NL game ($100 - $300) buy in game. I got the feeling he had no connection between CHIPS/CASH. (that the CHIPS could purchase something) Fact is... He played like the money he bought in with.. was PLAY MONOPOLY money...

His moves were weak at best (but he thought he was the shit..lol) I hate the LAUGH here.. but it WAS THAT BAD. The "kid" had no clue. His "tells" were so bad - even players not knowing what to look for - PICKED up on stuff..

Sure, this young man weaved and dodged, acted cool... (and cought some nice pots even) but the oldtimers (like me at 41) knew it was just a matter of time... and he was going to be WATCHING the game instead of playing in the game. (Unless he had more money) It did not help his cause (and I doubt he even cared to consider) that THE TABLE was 80% full of quality players and DANGEROUS.. "ok" players..

Do these kids think about any of this stuff???

God.. I love kids.

P.S. He had NO MORE MONEY.
