FUNDRAISER on IRONDUKE poker.. ONtiltRADIO!

Good times!

I think I came in like 6th or so.. Out of 18? I had the MONSTER stack 2/3rd's of the game - but the blinds ended up too huge for the small field of chips in action.. Basically - it ended up being an ALL IN fest.

GO TRY THEM!

It's like playing poker on a CB radio... but with fewer people.

RED NECK too! (which is a BONUS!) It's really FUN! Funny.

Music (commercials) with curses... and boring guys talking poker! They remind me of those two gals on Saturday night live. They talk soft.. and slooowwww... DO you remember? The skit with the "BALLS?"

Cookie balls... "Would you like to HOLD my balls..." "Good times!!!"

THAT SAID...

I always like to end on a HIGH note.. When possible.

"ISSexyASS1" is very nice... she invited me to help raise some money for the IKE fund and I like playing games like this.. She was worth listening too... She made it FUN! THANKS FOR THE INVITE!

I played with them about a year ago.. I'll play again - sometime down the road.

Truth is.. I'd like PROMOTE the site IRONDUKE... - but I tried and tried to download a BANNER ad - the page would not load...

Somebody might want to fix that... BAD FOR BUSINESS!

Hey check em out! See what you think!

I could be wrong.

If THEY do have LOADS of listeners... They can PROVE my "CB" comment wrong and have them ALL come over here and give me hell... Just be sure to say BREAKER-BREAKER ya - all...

Ha ha...

FULL TILT JERK ME OFF HAND OF THE DAY

here you go....

Poker on full tilt.

WHY?

It FITS with my CONSTANT thread - WHEN YOU GET BEAT ON TILT.. (when all in) - YOU REALLY get beat on full tilt.

EVERY HAND (THERE MUST BE ACTION - "CARDS BEING HIT" by the two left in ation...

This HAND HERE.. is early in tourney - I raise.. He goes ALL IN with AQ...

What happens next -
I CRINGE... that's what...

Why?

BECAUSE GOING INTO A HAND ON FULL TILT is the kiss of death!

DOWN to 450 in chips - I grind it back to 1200 or so - then back to 962...

The PLAY Is SO bad..

(and it always pays the BAD PLAY OFF)

I could play for a million years and NOTHING would change at FT.. In with a bad hand - get paid!

NOW - LET'S REMEMBER - If I do a move like this with AQ in a $24.00 game.. I'm losing the hand 8-10 hands...

BUT.. WHEN I HAVE A HAND.. THIS SORTA OUTCOME always happens.. (yes... I said always)

My LARGE pocket pair is DOOMED!

THEN WE HAVE HANDS LIKE THIS... I'm ALOMST OUT AND WA LA! "BOTH PLAYER HIT AGAIN!"

After this hand - it's 20 min of NADA! (take my blinds - 7,4 off)

I have 1944 in chips

After this a few hands later I get AK and make a DOUBLE BLIND RAISE... FLOP is garbage - I make a 2/3rd.. stab at pot after its checked to me (one caller btw) I take it down there... (Note - I never seem to hit my AQ or AK on FULL TILT)

I win this though.. and it's up to 2424 in chips for me.. (that's the good news.. bad news is... AVERAGE STACK IS 6k)

I'm faced with hands like this... CARD DEAD!

Here is how I stand

NO GETTING A LOOK AT FLOP FROM HERE ON OUT... NO WAY! Here is what happens EVERY HAND NOW... SOMEONE WILL RAISE SOMETHING! ALL "WE" can DO... is HOPE it's US

I make my MOVE! ALL IN.. with A9...

NO "SPIKE" for me..

I'm out!

BETTER LUCK NEXT TIME!

* Republican National Convention

Denver — Not long after Congress passed a ban on Internet gambling, PR man John Pappas knew he had to be here at the Democratic National Convention.

Pappas represented online poker players. Their ragtag Poker Players Alliance had been stunned by Congress’ midnight approval of the ban late in 2006.

Internet gamblers had been powerless to block the bill. They were only loosely affiliated. They often knew one another only by their online nicknames.

But they did have computers and they had passion. Over the following 18 months, they learned quickly about the nexus of politics and influence.

Tuesday night, this once odd lot of online gamblers transformed Coors Field, home of Colorado’s major league baseball team, into a poker palace, and they invited the very targets of their ire — lawmakers who had banned their gambling. In short, they put on a poker face.

As the second night of the convention closed with Sen. Hillary Clinton’s speech, the club room overlooking the ballpark looked like early Vegas. Hundreds of delegates, members of Congress, celebrities and fans of the game showed up.

Pappas and others made sure it was an A-list-ish affair: Ben Affleck settled in for a hand alongside the powerful Democratic chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, Rep. Barney Frank.

“What better way to get our message delivered than to be right at the conventions when there’s all this politics and policy?” said Pappas, who has left his day job to run the Poker Players Alliance, which claims 1 million members. It will host a similar event at the Republican National Convention next week.

Religious and family groups despise Internet poker as a modern social ill that wrecks marriages and depletes checkbooks. As online gambling grew into a wildly popular $15 billion industry in just a few years, the religious right batted it back.

Social conservatives had great sway in Congress during the waning days of 2006, as Republicans pushed moral issues in an attempt to retain power. When the online gambling ban went through, it was an exercise in traditional political power.

What happened next was not.

Online gamblers formed a vast network online, nearly overnight, built around a single issue.

Not long ago, that kind of organizing took months, if not years — and a fair amount of seed money. Today, as the poker players demonstrated, a group with modest resources but decent Internet hookups can organize swiftly.

Some say the group’s grass-roots campaign helped oust longtime Republican Rep. Jim Leach of Iowa from office. Leach had authored an anti-online gambling bill.

More recently, poker players swarmed the Republican Party’s platform-writing Web site, protesting a plank opposing Internet gambling.

Pappas knew the online work could take the group only so far. If poker players wanted the attention of political leaders, they needed to do something big, and public.

He had attended political conventions before (he’s a Republican) and was familiar with the wining and dining. But this year, the number of events has exploded. Nevada Democratic Rep. Shelly Berkley, for example, received 1,800 invitations.

So to make sure he drew a crowd, Pappas went big: Coors Field. And he went for star power. When Affleck asked to join, the poker players knew they had an ace. Other celebs included Seth Myers from “Saturday Night Live,” comedian Sarah Silverman, TV personality Montel Williams and actor Richard Dreyfuss.

Five days before the big night, the group’s public relations company (run by a former Bush administration spokesman) got a call for help to handle the flood of media interest. The PR chief boarded a plane to Denver.

Technically, Poker in the Ballpark was a charity tournament. That was essential because under new ethics rules, lawmakers can attend events hosted by organizations or corporations only if a charitable donation is involved.

Players made a suggested $500 donation, a little less if they didn’t play, and the money went to Paralyzed Veterans of America. Pappas expects to raise $100,000 for the group from the events in Denver and St. Paul, Minn.

But let’s get real.

Although the Poker Players Alliance is willing to spend $30,000 for a party to send money to vets, the goal is to get Washington to make it legal to gamble from a laptop.

As Myers cracked: “With everything going on in the world right now, I just think that’s the biggest issue. We solve that, then we can move on to all of these other, smaller things, like the economy, the war.”

The players have a somewhat more serious view.

Marc Schtul, an attorney in Denver who forked over $500 to play, said, “If I want to play online poker, it’s my business. I’m a Republican but I might not be for long.”

The alliance does not want to be partisan, Pappas said, but that’s getting more difficult because of the Republican opposition.

Florida Democratic Rep. Robert Wexler, a friend of online poker who has sponsored legislation that would help legalize the game, said having the group show up in Denver is significant.

“I think the more their story is told, the better off we’ll be in the Congress developing widespread support for the issue,” Wexler said.

Nevada Berkley also breezed through, noting, “They really got their act together.”

Yet, Rep. Jason Altmire, a Pennsylvania Democrat, said he came for the veterans, not the poker players.

As for overturning the online gambling ban? “We’re going to take a look at it.”

About 1 a.m., hours before the tournament would wrap up, Pappas surveyed the scene.

“Success,” he said. “Since we’re at a baseball stadium — we hit a home run.”

Well.. BAck to MY work anyways...

I'm back into my house work.. The stone wall - I ramed out a huge window today and before work tomorrow - I'll place a good 8-10 stones. It's about 70% finished and I hope to have it DONE in about a week - no more than two. Weather permitting.

22 place finish.. It's better than the BUBBLE... But.. "Reallllyyyy"

I can't tell you how many times I have the OPEN ENDED and never hit ... It's too close to NEVER... actually. Come to think of it.. it's also RARE to HIT a random flop HARD.. like.. u know.. "LOCK IT UP and ship it... kinda HARD" as in a "I can't lose" kinda flop..

If I do hit such a flop... SOMEONE ELSE usually shares the same INSANE LUCK.. (it happens ALL the time..)

ODD?

It is SUSPECT at least.. no?

Some STATS at 81 hands...

When I tell people to DODGE the set up hands.. This is my EXAMPLE.. If you get the hand that looks too good to be true.. and a PLAYER seems to have made the WORST call ever.. BEWARE on FT - You're screwed!

Here is my COOLER hand of the DAY...

Check out the FLOP.. I bet it HARD all the WAY and this one LIVES AND DIES by pocket 8's..

HE

THEN... I hit a little back next hand when someone OVER PLAYS the AK..

I LOSE to this hand - QUADS... I always seem to hit hands like this and THEY always play it "just right" when they do...

IN this next image - I get a little action.. but they slow down. Actually they FOLD. I do not get paid off..

This next image is HOW and WHY I always seem to be hitting the bubble.. It seems - Every time I make a move.. from position.. One of the blinds end up having a better than average hand..

Knowing this.. I still have to make my MOVES..

Also - the players in these blinds.. will NOT re-raise.. the always seem to limp. OK - so I make a move.. I BET BIG ON FLOP when I hit my K.. I'm still on a move.. but I HIT...

This one - calls my BIG move with NOTHING.. on flop.. WHY? Is it because this is the magic position... the one where a PLAYER knows he/she is more than likely to HIT by the river? It must be... Because - If I had this hand in same weak position.. after flop.. and had major money coming at me .. I have to put player on MANY hands that could beat my NOTHING...

THE POINT...

THEY spike the river on me.. more and more when I play these $100 games and always right around the BUBBLE... I'm forced to make my MOVES due to being BLINDED OUT.. or CHIP BROKE.

My concern - that this site sets up these hands.. A player should run into many situations when a RAISE or move form button will run into a FOLD.. but NOT.. for me - and NOT on Full Tilt.

SUSPECT... Especially when it's game after game.. SAME situation.. time and time again..

Another point I'd like to make is - no - a question.. Why is it PLAYERS PLAYING to see the flop - ALWAYS HIT something and WHY when they do - are they always doing so - up against OTHER draw boards on the turn.. MORE WAYS TO LOSE - every hand..

Just answer why - every hand - players seeing the flop ALWAYS seem to hit action.. WHy not MORE hands chsecking down - BORING hands - like I see live.

WHy?
