Economic SLOWDOWN/Casinos - I HAD TO LAUGH AT THIS ONE!

Boo Hooo! ATLANTIC CITY! CRY ME A RIVER!!!

In the NEWS yesterday (my local Standard Speaker, Hazleton Pa) - HEADLINE READS "Economic slowdown could lead casinos to end perks"

It should have read! Atlantic City/Vegas Casinos (American Casinos) - A Portrait of GREED! They WANT it ALL!

I got news for the CASINOS - Most gamblers I talk to are more worried about their kids.. & food and gas prices than playing in casinos these days.. They are going to VEGAS/Atlantic City NO WHERE near the amount THEY ONCE DID - I think this is a very good thing. The casinos over the past 20 years have been putting it to gamblers hard. The industry has built PLASTIC palace after PLASTIC palace and conditioned people that it's OK to lose it all!

To this I say! WAKE UP PEOPLE!

THIS IS BULL SHIT - With a capitol ba ba baahh "B!"


Atlantic City posted it's first DECLINING revenue report in a good while the paper report read. YEAH RIGHT! People are worried about eating, paying house payment(s)and keeping gas in car (in order to get to WORK) and the CASINOS think PEOPLE care about the DONALD "not making as much" or him "not stuffing his pockets enough.. cmon!"



Now the casino's want to CUT back on perks...

Listen EVERYONE! - I'll say it again! They have been cutting back on what they give players for years now.(THIS is NOT a NEW STORY.. JUST MORE OF THE SAME) GAMBLERS should JUST SAY ENOUGH IS ENOUGH with these casino companies making SUCH huge profits?

PLEASE "FOCUS" EVERYONE!



The newspaper report stated that Atlantic City casinos had a DECLINE - NOT A LOSS!!! OMG! They ONLY made a ZILLION DOLLARS PROFIT last year - and they wanted MORE.... When is ENOUGH ENOUGH? Do they always need to POST more of a profit YEAR AFTER YEAR? Is this fair?

I say HELL NO! Give it AND more back to the PLAYER(s)! If the players were not sitting at their machines or table games - NONE of it would exist anyways - People have bought into the GREAT ADVENTURE sell of casinos - and all the while were being taken to the CLEANERS - with payouts TWEAKED for MAX profit to the casino and (45) credit machines.. (God forbid we let people lose their money slow)

I got a great idea!

Let's go back to the SMALLER CASINOS with a more personable staff - Let's go back to OLD SCHOOL! Bring back the MOB! (Yeah I said it!) - They knew how to take care of PLAYERS/CUSTOMERS..












They "knew" how to keep the players coming back - and EVEN how to keep them happy. NO PLAYER was left hungry or without a drink - NOT EVEN the SMALL TIME players.. It all worked out...


No sir, I'm not one bit sorry to hear that ATLANTIC CITY is having a bad year.. BOOO HOOO! Maybe the TOP brass should take a field trip OUTSIDE the city and see how some people are living these days... Times are tough. (NOTE - the MAJOR % of a casinos take is from SMALL moms and pops and grandma!)

They are STEALING from GRANDMA!

Again, maybe THIS IS ALL a good thing - Maybe people will LEARN how greedy some companies have become and LET these companies ROT!


I'm more for SMALLER "mom and pop" joints.. I was never much into these MEGA resorts - I was sick to my stomach when they started tearing down the SANDS, DUNES, HACIENDA and the ALADDIN to name a few - They needed to be replaced, sure... but DID we need to GO THAT BIG? MGM, WYNN? etc.. Cmon! "I" was able to see it almost right away how the prices went UP UP UP.. with the MIRAGE and the properties that followed. (note! At least the MIRAGE was REAL and not all plastic)

BEFORE the BOOM in VEGAS A player at almost ANY LEVEL did not pay much to eat or to see a good show. It all worked out in the TAKE! (casino) Back then (pre 1985) Vegas still made millions! NOW - they make MEGA MILLIONS.. (But in order for them to MAKE these RECORD profits They just give you MUCH less of everything!) One word. Greed.

YEARS AGO! $100 dollars in a .25 cent machine had you PLAYING for HOURS and HOURS! TRY THAT TODAY! Greed.

Does anyone out there think that these MEGA resorts are BUILT on WINNERS??? (BY ONE OF "YOU" HITTING A JACKPOT I MEAN???) Hell no! They were built on the BACK of thousands of LOSERS - Some of them HUGE losers... Hey... THEY DID NOT OUT AND OUT STEAL YOUR MONEY.. THEY did NOT hold a GUN to your head.. (well - maybe they kinda sorta stole it a little) They did it by adjusting and tweaking the PAYOUTS... in their favor of course.. year after year.. MORE and MORE for the HOUSE each year. MORE and MORE TAXES for BIG BROTHER and MORE profits for the coffers - EVERYONE was happy - except maybe YOU - ME and GRANDMA!

Anyone that went to Vegas and Atlantic City early on - KNOWS that the machines PAYED OUT WAY MORE BACK THEN... They remembered when hitting 3 bars paid something and they remember that a $20.00 bill got some PLAY time - THESE DAYS - A player can go $100 and not see a CHERRY - and "get this kids" - A SINGLE cherry today means you LOSE 1/3rd of your wager..(YOU WILL HEAR THE BELLS RING TOO! BUT YOUR ACTUALLY DOWN 1/3rd your wager in most cases)

In the OLD days - a cherry was a WIN (a positive) to you coin bucket. In the old days a WIN was a WIN! Period.

BOOO HOOO! The casinos are CUTTING BACK the report says - GIVING PLAYERS less.. OMG! That's so sad it's funny! I remember how well the OLD Vegas treated people - FREE or $18 rooms in the early 90's... I used to BOOK 21 days at a time! Not anymore baby! Those days are OVER! Ask someone that was there in the 50's and 60's and LOOKOUT ! They will tell you BETTER stories of FUN AND SUN and FREE FOOD/BOOZE! They treated you like you were a KING for "little action" in those days!
It was a WHOLE other W O R L D.


The REPORT also states... BOOO HOOOOO, that SOME gamblers WILL NOT like it one bit when they cut comps MORE. (NO KIDDING - REALLY?) Nick Danna, a senior analyst at Sterne & Leach, said turning off the freebie spigot will be hard to do. "It's a difficult culture to break," he said. "The expectation is still there; the customers are used to it."

My thoughts on this subject??? THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN SUITES RUN THE ACTION!

The BIG corporations know nothing about a "true gamble" or a "gambler" and only look to the bottom line. They KILLED old Vegas and brought in the $29.00 buffet. and $134.00 casino shows.. I expect that IN THESE TIMES (gas - food - oil bills on rise) that SMART COMPANIES will go BACK to the BASICS and BACK to giving MORE to the PLAYERS -

Here is the thing - THEY WILL NEED TO BE FAIR and "TAKE LESS"

The old timers (mob) might have done some bad things - but they knew how to TREAT a PLAYER... Most of these guys were GAMBLERS themselves...



NO BULL SHIT HERE! GREEDY GREEDY PEOPLE AND STOCK HOLDERS BUILT THESE HUGE PROPERTIES -
It was EASY to do in the UP TIMES! WHAT ABOUT NOW? WHEN PEOPLE START LOSING JOBS and have to spend more at the PUMP??? WHAT NOW? Gamblers CAN GET ACTION IN THEIR GARAGE or ONLINE..

What will they do when people TAKE the "HOUSE" out of the picture - due to these UNKNOWNS always wanting more profit.

I'll TELL YOU WHAT!

Give me the legal right to run a small 8 table poker parlor in Pennsylvania and SEE how happy I make my players.. The BIG companies would not stand a chance with what I'd offer MY customers... What these companies need is REAL competition! With the current set up - they just do as they please. America is AWESOME some times.

I'm NOT going to take int anymore! (Neither should you!) If the casino that I give my action to - takes away my FREE noodle bar... I'm out for GOOD! I'll never RETURN! I suggest YOU should do the same!

GRANDMA IS PISSED! (Whoops! Someone done PISSED off GRANDMA!) Why would CASINOS piss on their bread and butter? STUPIDITY & GREED.

Here is one last thing! (Atlantic City) I played in the SMALL poker room at the SANDS a BUNCH of times! I played with HUCK SEED there a few years back. It was not a BIG poker room - NOT BY A MILE - and it was HARD to find at times... but it HAD "SOMETHING" ya know?
